We're hardwired to reproduce, so there have to be ways of singling out the best mate. Without physical attraction, people would feel no need to approach someone to try and form a relationship. We'd all die out.
It's nature, it's in all species. If cockroaches were pink and fluffy we'd love them.
Nature makes it that we want the best/healthiest offspring and it therefore makes us attracted to the best looking/healthiest ones for a partner.

sure, just look at all the bottle blondes they have there, and here. and the blue eyes, yes. althought they don't call them blue eyes, they call them colored eyes. when i first introduced my husband to co-workers, many remarked to me..oh he has colored eyes. and when they met my daughter (from a different man), i got to hear. 'oh you only like blonde men with colored eyes, don't you?' like i was being elitest. i since i am brown, many where i work are surprised that i am associated with white people. all of the boyfriends i've ever had (40ish?)were white except one. it's just because that's all i've ever known. many mexicans live in this town, but none of them like to hang out where i do, so i don't know too many. except for my mothers side of the family.Is it true the standard of beauty in Mexico is blonde hair blue eyes and thin?

If you look at any group of upper-class, wealthy Mexicans without knowing where they are from, you'll have trouble guessing. They look like they could be from New York, Paris, Berlin or Madrid.
So it is much more about social caste than any actual ideal of beauty, just like it is with American blacks. For many of them, there's a premium on looking ';whiter'; because traditionally that's where the money and the power were and the least discrimination.

Well...the federal minimum wage right now is $5.85 an hour (going up to $6.55 on July 24th of this year). Now you didn't say what you'd be doing in the beauty salon. If you'll be getting tips they can pay you a little less. If your a hairdresser and you rent a booth you only make what you charge your customers minus your expenses. Hope this helps!

I wish that my daughter would of asked me this question when she was in highschool...I will tell you a secret, about being popular....When I was in school I realized that when you speak to other people you should always make it about them..The number one thing that all people like to do is to talk about themselves...I did this and ended up with about 5 groups of friends all of which didn't like each other..But I was never bored and always had someone to go out with..Something that my daughter never had ...These girls are still my friends even though more then 20 yrs. has passed..Key is learnig how to be a friend...My daughter to this day still does not have any real friends(she would never take my advice on this)))I wonder how she will find someone to be in her wedding!!!How can I improve my inner beauty?
the first thing you have to do is like your self. look in the mirror every day and keep telling your self you are a good person and a nice person. you can't please every one so please yourself.
you have to like your self the way you are. i wasn't popular in school. i talked to my self every day in the mirror. when i started to believe it my hole out look changed. when that happened it showed and my whole life changed. good luck.

Hair dressers...well I've had my experience with them, and I always did my hair better than they, being a professional, could. Not just one either...I think I can count maybe 3 or 4. I never get what I want from them because most hair dressers think a like. They hear you say what you want but in their minds it translates as something different and you end up with what they think would be good on you based on their personal, unprofessional opinion.
Sorry...not trying to ruin your hopes or anything. But just because someone has a plaque on their wall doesn't mean they know what they're doing. I was brought up in a very handy, DIY house-hold, so that's probably why I feel that way.

I think they are all wonderful when they dont talk! U can be the best by just being a great listener! Good Luck its a lot of giving and not much receiving, so you need to be patient!

Why are there so many beauty salons/tailor shops closing here?
I have noticed that there are a lot of these lady's shops closing down yet when I go to a beauty shop at night they are almost always packed with people especially wednesday and thursday nights and there are very few formal dress stores in Riyadh so I assume that people are having them tailed so why are some many closing? Is the recession effecting Saudi more these days?Why are there so many beauty salons/tailor shops closing here?

It sounds like a great place to get shagged. I would take my youngest son there. The little shaver might enjoy it. Just be careful. The first cut is the deepest. This truly could be a hair salon to dye for. Could I bring my pet jack rabbit in so that you could cut the hair on my hare? Let me mullet it over for awhile. I may take my soccer team in for a trim so I can get the whole crew cut. It could be just shear madness. Make sure your ad in the yellow pages is easy to find. You don't want people to have to comb through it. You want no part of that. Offer reasonable prices, too. You don't want to scalp your clientele. Use real poo, not that sham poo that is totally fake. You must condition your customer to sit still during his or her appointment. Use your head and watch for dandruff. People can be such flakes.

What are the requirements for beauty school? GED or High school Diploma required?
If you go to a commercial beauty school I do not believe there is an educational requirement, but the jr. college or community college in your area may require one. The jr college classes take a bit longer than the commercial schools...I think it is another month or so, but I believe it is still much much cheaper.
If you go to a commercial school find out if they have an employment program. Good schools can easily place their students, it is a good way to check on the caliber of the school. Ask how many of the most recent class failed their license exam too. If it the percentage is more than 3 or 4 you might want to interview a couple graduates.

How much money does it cost to open i fairly nice beauty salon?
Alot(I know that's probley not what your looking for, But it'll be alot.), Think of the Supplys you need(Dryers, Washer and Clothes dryer, Sinks, Products, Etc.) and the permits, and the things that make the salon look nice, and even buying the place..and if the place needs an extra room or something like that, or to be repainted or repaired in ANY way, and getting everything approved(Like doing the small things, like paper towels, and soap dispenser.)...Defiently won't be cheap.

No, because beauty is a perception. There's no precise definition of beautiful. A friend of mine had a girlfriend who he considered the most beautiful woman alive. She was kind of plain looking. The more I got to know her, however, the more I saw her intelligence %26amp; her kindness. Whenever she'd show up it would get me to smile because she was so nice to be around -at that point I came to realize why he thought she was so beautiful. She was, but not at a glance to me -he was able to project her inner beauty onto her appearance.

I think yea. Imagination and fantasy are overactive or heightened aspects of a person. Beauty is a natural thing, as natural as the appreciation for it.
For me all beauty lies beyond these parameters. A flower is neither a fantasy or imagined. Even something that has been creatively produced manifests itself as something tangible in the present at the point at which its beauty is realised.
Sure there can, there is beauty in all that is around you. you just have to open your mind and view it in a different light. Keep your eyes open cause you may see beauty and not even know it. Good Luck

Im entering a pageant...Im 19 yrs old... Its a 3 day spread of events(Nov. 26,27,28).... i need a christmas costume which i don't know what to wear, casual wear , beauty wear, talent, interview (yikes), and photogenic... now im in acedemy beauty school and they teach me all different types of things to do with your hair and make up.
i use this gel for my natural curly/wavy hair its called HERBAL ESSENCES totally twisted curl scrunching twisted it is used forcurly hair. it will keep your hair from frizzing up like a poodle and lock you waves and spirals smoothy with the weightless formula fused with french lavender and jade extracts. it will make all those humid days feel like a spring breeze.

What is your best beauty tip for a natural, pretty look?
-I put tea tree oil on a pimple if i get one to keep my skin looking clear
-I dont use makeup unless i am going out, and even then i dont use much. I never wear foundation. It clogs your pores and wrecks your skin.
-An eyelash curler really helps to open my eyes every morning
-If your eyebrows are hard to tame, spray a bit of hairspray on a tootbrush (one you obviously arnt going to use on your teeth!) and use it to groom your eyebrows.
-I keep my hair pretty and natural. I dont dye it, and i only use natural shampoos and conditioners on it. I use my hair straightner every morning just on my fringe, and i always make sure i apply a heat protection spray first.
-Eat healthy, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep!What is your best beauty tip for a natural, pretty look?
a little brown mascara with bright pink lipgloss or berry lipgloss and pastel yellow on your lids for a summery look
for at night bright pink lipgloss mascara and bronzer

a little on the lower inner corners of my eyes,

and when my cousin's makeup bag is around, i swipe on some of her Bare Naturale mascara that's from L'Oreal. Oh, god, I sound like an advertisement but that mascara is awesome. it curls your middle lashes up and your outer lashes more outwars and makes them looong. @_@

No matter where you are there is always different schools with different prices. I tried to look into nail tech once and I found schools from $600-$3000 and I live in Florida. What I did was shop around. I wend to www.bridges.com and looked for schools in my state and city. Then I called each school and asked if they had the program I wanted. If they did I asked the price of the program if they didnt want to give it over the phone I would just go over to the school, listen to their crap and get their card and price. I think it is unhealthy to instill so much vanity and shallowness into young children. Why not teach them to excell at a sport, or hobby, instead of implying that their greatest asset is their looks?Do you think child beauty pageants should be banned?
I think it's freaky the way they take these little girls and make them look like women...it's not natural and I think it's dangerous. There are too many wierdos out there to flaunt your little girls around looking like adults in a childs body. Let children be children. I've also seen kids who miss school and miss out on real life by entering pageants. I do think that the way the kids dress in these pageants should be like kids not like street walkers

I always use a brand of make up called Piurre effect.. i sold it for a while until the company moved to new york.. i recommend it because all you do is put the primer on then an all natural primer..it makes skin look naturally flawless..when you do your eye make up always use a dark color on the crease, a medium color on the bottom and a light white or tan color on the top and blend them(make sure the colors match unless you're going clubbin) for your lipstick you need to find out what colors are the base of your skin tone..if you have say a pinkish base you use neutrals, pinks, or just gloss, if you have a more red/orange base you would use reds and red browns. you use the same base color for the blush you wear just don't use brownish orangish for red/orange based skin tone. For hair i recommend an edgey cut that can be worn both curly and straightened so you can either go for a party look or a classic beauty look...hope these tips work out...Also, always curl your eyelashes and use mascara.

Now,if you want a vibrant eye and lip combination wear all these cosmetics together.You might think it's a bit goth,but that's close to my style,different!

DEFINITELY NOT but sometimes its hard to tell.
did anybody know that to test lotion, animals skin and fur is BURNED OFF so it is CHARRED, then they put lotion on it to see how it ';improves'; the skin, usually leaving rashes so they have to try again. how can you not care about that???Would you rather use beauty products tested on animals or not?

Living authentically alao makes you beautiful.
Treating people with an openess and kindness is beautiful. being good to your self by not participating in harmful and damaging behavior is beautiful. When I see this I see someone who is geniunely beautiful. Like mother teresa, Audrey hepburn was beautiful.

A Great and Terrible Beauty Cultural Practices?
Hey y'all! So, I'm doing this book report of A Great and Terrible Beauty. The novel by Libba Bray. I've been searching hopelessly through the book trying to find two examples of Cultrual Practices. I am suppose to write out the passages and what it explains about the culture in which the story is set. I AM SO CONFUSED!!! Could somebody with a background in this sort of thing help me out?! This passage gives a little bit of insight into Indian culture (the food in the marketplace and the bit about snakes for Gemma's birthday dinner; how the marketplace is set up and the way business takes place there; how Gemma and her mother are, as English women, treated differently than Indians are treated; etc.) and religion. While the majority of the story is not set in India, one of the most important events of the books takes place there, so I think it's significant enough for your report.
So now you've got an idea of what you're looking for, and I'm sure you can find a second passage. Why are there so many blondes on the covers of beauty magazines again?
This month Reese Witherspoon, Katherine Heigl, and some other blonde actresses are on the cover of magazines like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, etc. It doesn't bother me, it just made me curious bc the media seems to usually hav a variety of actresses of hair colors and ethnicities and looks, but never before have I seen so many magazines with almost all their covers being blonde actresses. I know before my time like the early 80s 70s and 60s this was very common, in fact it was uncommon to see a non-blonde on a beauty magazine--let a lone a non-white woman---but now magazines feature all types of women on the cover usually, at least all types of hair colors. But not this month. I usally complain bc I feel like ethnic women get more attention than white women these days in terms of modeling etc. but seeing the selection of magazines this month at the bookstore all I saw was white women---and blondes, not even white bruenettes or redheads. Now my feelings have swung the opposite directionWhy are there so many blondes on the covers of beauty magazines again?
