Can there be any beauty in the absence of imagination and fantasy?

inspired by an answer:)Can there be any beauty in the absence of imagination and fantasy?
';Beauty is in the eye of the beholder';

sorry, I got caught in a loop :)Can there be any beauty in the absence of imagination and fantasy?
No, because beauty is a perception. There's no precise definition of beautiful. A friend of mine had a girlfriend who he considered the most beautiful woman alive. She was kind of plain looking. The more I got to know her, however, the more I saw her intelligence %26amp; her kindness. Whenever she'd show up it would get me to smile because she was so nice to be around -at that point I came to realize why he thought she was so beautiful. She was, but not at a glance to me -he was able to project her inner beauty onto her appearance.
beauty is extrapolated from the sensory data of the beholder

we construct a concept called beauty to best descibe our environment, everything we know is changed between what it is and what we percieve. what it really is we cannot know because 'knowing' itself filters out much information.

the unknowable that the word beauty describes is unchanged by us but without us it cannot be beauty because beauty is a human concept.

this is true of all things though - in the same way Gravity did not exist until that apple hit Sir Isaac Newton on the head, the force the word gravity describes was acting on the universe but 'gravity' did not exist before our definition.

there can't be any thing without a definition because without a definition provided by our creative intellingece no 'thing' is separate from another 'thing'. like a new born baby that has no concept of 'things' and thus no concept of the the fact that it ends at it's fingertips and the world starts there - it initially thinks everything is an extension of it's own body ( in that regard a baby is deeply spiritual as it actaully sees the universe as oneness.)

So if imagination is our creative intelligence then there can't be beauty without it.

Good Q

No, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Therefore, it is whatever you make of it and this requires imagination and a certain amount of fantasy.
I think yea. Imagination and fantasy are overactive or heightened aspects of a person. Beauty is a natural thing, as natural as the appreciation for it.
For me all beauty lies beyond these parameters. A flower is neither a fantasy or imagined. Even something that has been creatively produced manifests itself as something tangible in the present at the point at which its beauty is realised.
Sure there can, there is beauty in all that is around you. you just have to open your mind and view it in a different light. Keep your eyes open cause you may see beauty and not even know it. Good Luck
Of course, ever heard of natural beauty?

I don't have to use my imagination to enjoy the sight of a hot girl almost naked on a beach ^___~
yes. its called visual perception...an immediate sensory response to visual stimuli. Immagination can exacerbate beauty but it is only necassary if ur eyes are closed!
Beauty transcends imagination and fantasy. You can be very objective with Beauty.
yes of cors! you can get your best imagination or fantasy that you can't have in reality... and it's priceless!
All beauty lies outside IMAGINATION
YES .imaginative as i am , i don't need it when watching a beautiful sunset .
sure i realized and u also can do that.
