Perfect beauty or the beauty of imperfection?

Which do you prefer? I realize this is very broad and vague, but there is a Japanese term for the beauty of imperfection. I'm not very familiar with the term or philosophy associated with it, but the idea of beauty in imperfection is very intriguing to me. Answer in regards to whatever first comes to mind. and comes out through beauty
There is no perfect beauty, to my mind. There is only the beauty of ';imperfection.'; I think the resonance of the B. of I. comes from the way, when we recognize it, we also recognize that beauty = truth = perfection = what actually is (not what we imagine or desire).
The beauty of imperfection comes from something being REAL, and that in many cases says so much more than any sort of pretense of perfection or vanity that is overly concerned with itself.
Beauty in imperfection. If we were all ';perfect';, then we would all be the same. Beauty lies in our differences and what makes us each uniquely ourselves. I hope that makes sense!
*The critic is he who can translate into a new manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things. The highest as the lowest form of criticism is a mode of autobiography. Those who find ugly meanings in beautiful things are corrupt without being charming. This is a fault. Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope. They are the elect to whom beautiful things mean only Beauty. - Oscar Wilde

-beauty over imperfections were always the popular choice. for me, beauty is over-rated. i walk in imperfections perfectly, and people around me see the beauty of me, radiating from within.

*There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion. - Francis Bacon

-imperfections makes beautiful things that we don't know how to appreciate.

The first question I ask myself when something doesn't seem to be beautiful is why do I think it's not beautiful. And very shortly you discover that there is no reason. - John Cage

i find beauty over simple things because i know that therecan never be an ugliness that God has created. i always say that beauty is never equal to perfection. if it is, then life will be simply too shining. sometimes we need to see a little dirt to know that some things are real.
It seems perfect beauty could not exist. Because as some have said being ';perfect'; would be boring, so in actuality what we see as perfect isn't actually perfect. Get what I mean?

I don't then think that imperfection is a necessary term as everything would be imperfect by default. Perfect for one person is not always perfect for others, what one sees as perfect is their opinion.

In conclusion, I think beauty is subjective (you know ';eye of the beholder'; type thing) and that by default people or things are imperfect and so we could stretch to say that we find beauty in imperfection.

On a side note, I think the reason many people say that things/people that are ';perfect'; are boring is because we then can measure ourselves against them and realize how imperfect we are. ;) Interesting question!
I would hate to date a perfect guy. In everyone there is one trait that is perfect, thats what I believe. If the whole person was perfect in every single aspect it would get boring.

I think the things that your attracted to are the person perfections. But even some perfects can seem like imperfections in other peoples eyes. It's all very confusing but a very interest and as you said, intriguing topic.
i think it is natureal to have the beatuy which it deal inside and outside. you dont have to have makeup to took beautiful.

you look like you are. you dont have to make yourseft so beautiful because other think you are and not. just be natural.
